Mountain Report
Holiday Outlook | Updated Christmas Day
Winter is off to a strong start, and conditions heading into the holiday period are shaping up exceptionally well. Thanks to consistent early‑season snowmaking and favorable weather patterns, the mountain is right on track with terrain expansion and is delivering some of the best early‑winter conditions we’ve seen in years.
Looking ahead to Friday, December 26, we’re excited to welcome the opening of the Cupid Express for the season. Cupid will serve up some additional advanced terrain, including Rendezvous, Carver, White Wolf, Stonebridge, and Eastern Escape, adding an important piece of the mountain’s core terrain just in time for the busy holiday stretch.
Over the coming week, snowmaking efforts will remain focused on Western Frontier as well as the remaining terrain east of the Cupid Express. These efforts are aimed at continuing to build coverage and connect additional runs as quickly and efficiently as conditions allow. If progress stays on track and temperatures cooperate, we’re targeting an opening of this remaining terrain in time for next weekend, keeping our fingers crossed that favorable weather continues.
Be sure to check daily mountain reports for the latest updates on openings and operations, and we look forward to welcoming everyone out to enjoy the holidays on the slopes.
Daily Mountain Report Update
Mountain Report | Sunday, December 28th
It’s shaping up to be an exciting winter weather day at Granite Peak. Light snow is expected to move in this afternoon, with 5–8 inches of additional snowfall forecast tonight and into the overnight hours as a Winter Storm Warning goes into effect for the area.
Today’s skiing and riding will transition into progressively softer, more wintry conditions as the storm develops, with groomed runs offering the best turns through the afternoon. The incoming snow is great news for the holiday stretch and will help refresh surfaces across the mountain.
Our teams will be monitoring conditions and grooming through the storm to set the mountain up for an excellent start to tomorrow.
Bundle up, enjoy the flakes as they start flying, and get ready for a big snow night at Granite Peak!
