Position Purpose
Provide safe, efficient, and friendly operation of ski lifts while delivering exceptional guest service. Lift Operators ensure smooth guest flow, assist riders safely on and off lifts, and help maintain a positive and welcoming on-mountain experience in all weather conditions.
Key Responsibilities
Lift Operation & Safety

Operate all lift types in accordance with training and safety protocols.

Assist passengers in the safe loading and unloading of chairlifts and surface lifts.

Conduct daily pre-operation inspections and post-operation shutdown procedures.

Monitor lift operations for unusual conditions or hazards and report immediately to the supervisor.
Guest Experience & Service

Greet and interact with guests in a friendly, professional manner.

Provide information and assistance to guests regarding resort services, terrain, and conditions.

Monitor lift access, verifying valid passes or tickets.

Promote a fun, safe, and courteous atmosphere at all times.
Terrain & Equipment Maintenance

Maintain load and unload ramps, lift mazes, and surrounding areas, including shoveling, signage, fencing, and general upkeep.

Support special projects such as maze setup, sign replacement, and snow surface maintenance.

Assist with lift area cleanliness and equipment organization.
Team & Operations Support

Communicate effectively with other operators, lift maintenance, patrol, and supervisors.

Follow all departmental and company policies, procedures, and safety standards.

Perform other duties as assigned to support mountain operations.
Qualifications & Skills

18 years or older
-
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to remain attentive, responsible, and courteous under varying conditions.

Physical ability to work outdoors in all weather, stand for long periods, and perform manual tasks (shoveling, lifting, etc.).

Willingness to learn and follow safety procedures and technical training.

Prior experience in guest service or outdoor recreation preferred but not required.
NOTE:
Work Environment: This position involves working outside in all weather conditions, including extreme cold, snow, wind and rain, on varied snow surfaces, and requires being on your feet for the majority of the scheduled shift.
Physical and Mental Demands: This position works primarily outside and requires prolonged periods of standing and walking on slippery and/or uneven snow or icy surfaces. Must remain alert and attentive at all times. Must lift up to 50 pounds and be able to twist, turn and drag equipment.
