Full Speed Ahead: Leitner Poma Lifts at Granite Peak

November, 2017

Skiers and boarders at Granite Peak over the holiday weekend certainly had something to be thankful for: the resort's brand new snowmaking equipment, which used cutting-edge and effective technology to open 50% of the terrain weeks ahead of other resorts.

As the #1 Midwest ski resort, Granite Peak is home to the very best snowmaking in the Midwest, giving families and friends more opportunities to get outside and enjoy the winter. Over the past 16 years, Granite Peak has invested millions of dollars to produce the largest and most comprehensive snowmaking operation in the entire Midwest. And if that's not enough, this summer we invested several million more dollars to double our already impressive snowmaking capabilities. Now, we'll be able to open earlier, cover more runs sooner, and stay open later in the season.

In fact, skiers and snowboarders have already enjoyed hitting the slopes earlier than ever this year on Nov 11, kicking off what promises to be a long ski season ahead. Over the last couple of weeks, early birds also got to enjoy the discounted, early season ticket prices, available until December 15th. Tickets can be purchased at rates of $42 per day for children ages 6 to 18, and $52 for young adults ages 19 to 29 and seniors, and $62 for adults. Visit www.skigranitepeak.com for complete lift ticket prices, along with lesson and rental information.

Thanks to prime snowmaking conditions, the new equipment has been working in full force to blanket Granite Peak's runs in fresh snow for skiers to enjoy. Best of all, the new equipment cuts down on both energy and water usage, furthering Granite Peak's commitment to environmental preservation and protection. Compared to previous models, the new snowmaking equipment is about 30% more efficient, making the entire process greener—as the slopes get whiter. Just like the newly installed, eco-friendly Snow-Bright lamps, the new snowmaking equipment is a major move by Granite Peak to protect the environment and cut back on energy usage. By investing in upgraded equipment, Granite Peak has been able to uphold our close-held value of environmental stewardship, while also honoring our commitment to our customers and to quality.
