Description:
Granite Peak Ski Area is a privately-owned ski hill located in the Heart of Wisconsin. As a primarily winter season facility we depend highly on our seasonal team to function smoothly and provide the best guest experience possible. The Granite Peak Team is looking to hire Crew Members in our Terrain Park for the upcoming season with a love for the outdoors, a desire to learn, and a commitment to excellent service.
Overview:
Granite Peak’s Terrain Park Crew is looking for experienced riders/skiers who care about making the park fun and safe. Physical labor required; shoveling, daily maintenance, hiking up and down the terrain park and the ability to withstand severe winter weather is a must!
Responsibilities
- Assist with all feature construction projects, special event builds and grooming maintenance of terrain parks, half pipes and terrain-based teaching areas
- Install and maintain park signage, closures, trail markings, and fencing
- Maintains ongoing upkeep and repair of terrain features and equipment in the parks
- Assists with special events including setup and maintenance of equipment
- Monitors terrain features by visual inspection and testing according to company policy
- Contribute to overall park design and layout
- Train and develop all operators continually throughout the season
- Manage time efficiently during shift to make sure all tasks and projects are completed
- Attendance at all scheduled department meetings and gatherings
- Perform safe transportation of rails and other terrain park features
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Must be able to lift and move items weighing up to 50 pounds
- Must be able to work in a cold alpine environment on uneven terrain for long periods of time.
- Must have a valid US Driver’s license
- Must be able to communicate
- Required to use hand tools such as rakes, shovels, drills, and etc
- Must be a hard-working team player and a self-starter, able to take initiative
- Must have strong skiing or snowboarding skills and have knowledge of freestyle skiing/riding
- Any event/contest experiences is an asset
NOTE:
Work Environment: This position involves working outside in all weather conditions, including extreme cold, snow, wind and rain, on varied snow surfaces, and requires being on your feet for the majority of the scheduled shift.
Physical and Mental Demands: This position works primarily outside and requires prolonged periods of standing and walking on slippery and/or uneven snow or icy surfaces. Must remain alert and attentive at all times. Must lift up to 50 pounds and be able to twist, turn and drag equipment.
Customer Service Expectations: Customer contact is rare, but must be helpful, friendly, courteous and professional in accordance with Granite Peaks commitment to providing superior customer service
